bass waves, and temperature?

relative to tuning can anyone tell me(in general, i know there are a lot of factors involved) how far of a distance it takes for bass waves to open up? and can anyone tell me how many db can be gained by cooling the air within the vehical. -i know that spl is gained bc the air is more dense and that it shortens the length of distance it takes for bass waves to open up. thanks

Last friday it was about 80 degrees, Some one tested on an audiocontrol mike and did a 142, Then ran the air conditioning and after it got cold in the car did a 145.

I've always heard it takes something like 20 feet for a wave to open up/develop. but i read the other day that that was a myth and the explanation why it was made sense.

i heard that it changed with the tuning of the box and vehical.... and something like 12 feet, but idreally like to find out some true facts

cooler temps- low humidity usually scores higher- really depends on the car and setup tho..

i know this, just confused o n his last statement. is he saying there is a device that actually measures if a bass wave opens up? or is just talkin bout a pool!!! laymens terms would be apreciated..
