Bass tubes

Ok I need to put some bass in my saab. Im looking for a self powered subwoofer such as an infinity bass link or bazooka bass tube. I need some advise on the best self powered sub for the money. I'm not looking for a sub box in the trunk though.

Why the opposition to boxes? In my experience, bass tubes sounded like total *** and didn't get loud at all.

agreed bass tubes are totally worthless if your going for looks get a custom FB encloser like the far corner of the trunk or something

From my limited experience with bass tubes this is true, except I've heard some that do get loud, but lack definition entirely.

If you just want a lot of bass and cheap so you can play rap so people on the other side of the freeway can hear the bass, you can get a tube for that. If you're playing any form of music where the note being played is relevant, then you probably won't like a tube.

I'd get a box with a 10" or a 12" if space is a concern, but then again I'm in a similiar situation as I can't fit more than a tube in the trunk with a halfstack...

My reason for looking for a bass tube is one. I want cheap bass, not crappy "loud and obnoxious piss everyone off" bass. Second the saab has a different wiring system I have read. It uses fiber optics for the speakers with filters or something I did not have time to read the whole article. But there have been issues with fitting aftermarket speakers/subwoofers into the car. And I dont really need the d-luxbury comments thanks.

eh i cant help it, im all too familiar with the town.

either way, are you sticking with the stock audio system and just adding on? Or are you replacing the head unit and the like?
