When ever I've been pulled over i just usually apologize to the officer and tell them i did not think it would bother anyone on the road. Been issued a warning every time. Just don't be a prick about it.

Most cops here will just tell you to turn it down, but some will not hesitate to give you a $250 noise ordinance for your first offense.
