Bass Shattering

This is a piggy back from the other topic "limit of my windows", but i gotta ask you guys a question:

A friend of mine had 2 eclipse titanium 12" in a 1998 toyota camry, and he said that he went through 4 windshields. Now i think thats pure bullshit, because even if you did have enough power to blow out windows, you wouldn't blow out the windshield right? I think he may have had a 1000 watt amp. I think thats bullshit, what do u guys think?

Is it possible?

there are two ways to shatter a window: play its destructive resonant frequency (very high; a sub could never play that frequency) or hit it with a force greater than it can maintain. when it comes to subwoofers and windows the bindings would detereorate and release the window way before it would cause any cracking in the glass itself. now this is assuming a NORMAL car is being used. if your friend is driving a pos car with glass placed on the front with nothing holding it i suppose it is possible for the spl to cause it to slide off and shatter upon impact with the ground...

i have the same subs, with a lot more power than that going to them. it is nowhere near breaking a window. like i said in the other post, if you dont slap him, can i?
That's hilarious :hilarious

You want to slap him, be my guest!! i will supply his name and address..lol

I never believed him for a second, i just wanted to know if it was possible.
