Bass Remote

Question of Bass remote, if you dont use, whats the default setting if you dont use it or dont have it plugged in? Is it at Max?

i like the idea of having control, but not an ugly knob in my car. Im thinking about hiding it away in an ash tray.

Amp is BX 1500D

huh?

I have it,

( Nothing Installed yet )

bass knob is the control the bass on the sub right?

If i dont have it plugged it, does that mean the sub is going to play at max volume? And the only control for bass would be from the HU?

If its not plugged in, it will probably do whatever the knob for the bass boost is at..... at least thats how my nx400 is, and logic would say.

my amp is bx1500D

i dont understand why it would be a gain controler? I thought gains are to set and forget. Why would u want extenal control of it?

is this gains different from the gains on the amp?

if its the same, does that mean you can send clipped signals to the sub from the bass remote?

so maybe i dont need this thing at all. i should leave it unplugged.

On my amp, the remote bass controller controls the gain, and when the bass knob is all the way up, my gain is set to my amp's gain setting, and with the bass knob down, the gain is all the way down.

The gain setting kinda is a volume knob... Setting the amp to accept a higher input voltage results in lower output. It works differently, but the results are the same...

Don't use bass boost, and set the gain once and leave it alone. Someone said that their local shop called the remote bass controls the "remote speaker blower", and that's very true.............

You do have to be very careful. The amp that I have it is a bass EQ which lets you fine tune the sound of the sub. If you like your bass to be really low you can set the center freq. to around 30hz and boost up to 15DB's or if you want the higher end freq boosted you can set the center freq to around 50 or 60 hz or you can set it to be just a straight boost of the entire sub's freq. range. I have found it very useful to get the exact sound that I want.

so what do u do if u want to turn the bass down on the sub alone? without going to the amp.

i could turn the bass down on the HU, but would that turn the bass down on the interiors also?

see... im using my stock HU.. so my controls are limited.

Im also using a audiocontrol EQX unit.
