bass quit working

Alright so I have a I have a Fi Q 12" powered by a RF T1000.1BD. So I was driving down the highway yesterday when the bass suddenly just shut off. I then turned down the music and then i started to smell a stong burning smell. I was pissed. I kept the music off for a few minutes, then turned it back up just a little bit, and the bass was there, but then it slowly faded away. Now the sub never works. The amp lights up. So what do you think the problem is? Is the sub blown? I've never blown anything before.

It honestly sounds more like you blew your amp.

Yeah, if your speaker blown it wouldn't turn back on or fade. I would look into the amp. Disconnect ur speaker leads and pop them on a 9v battery, no movement, than its ur speaker.

IF it was a strong "burning" smell than its prob your amp, bc burnt sub smells rather odd to say the least. Well theres nothing(that Ive found)that smells quite like a burnt sub.

well that ****ing sucks if it's the amp. I didn't think it was though since the power light comes on. Thanks NoCoSPL i'll try that.
