Bass package less than $200 package??

i don't know how much bass your son likes, but there is nothing worse than spending the money, going through all the installation and being dissapointed with the result.

imo

Okay, I do have some skills with wood. I don't think I would have any trouble building a box. So say I was just looking for a sub or subs and an amp?

or you clould go with the two kickers

just put the whichever you choose in a well built ported box tuned properly and i think your son will be very happy

if you don't know how to build the box just ask and measurements can be given to you easily.

good luck

Do you know what kind of music your son listens to? you are pretty limited on your selection of subs due to price but music type would help a little on selction as well as on ported and or sealed.

Building a sealed box may not give the greatest overall output but it can generally get loud enough specially if this is the kids first system I'm sure he will be happy. Also by sealed he can keep more of his cargo area. But music type and maybe some dimensions and we could get a rough idea on a box for ya around some subs.

If you got some skills with wood working you should be all set doesn't take much, I find the carpeting is the most difficult. Thats the one place prefab comes in handy is carpet and such.

Idk man, I think he should go with a monoblock amp. It will be more efficient with stock electrical.

Also, building a box for the first time (if ported) is not that easy. It takes time, it's the 11th already and he's trying to get it for his son for christmas. I hate to say it but he may be better off with a prefab.

^^^ very true but in my experience especially with young ppl, louder is always better (as long as it doesn't sound like garbage, and sometimes even when it does lol)

tsen maybe your right, but i think the little extra time and effort and even money may pay off in the long run. especially if his becomes more involved. your probably right about the mono block amp but the titans seem better built to me than some of hifonics lower end mono blocks. may be wrong though
