Hello. I am looking for a xmas gift for my kid and was hoping to get him a sub/box/amp combo for less than $200.

All the reviews for the Infinity Subwoofer (BASSLINK) seemed really good and was in my price range but then I saw the packages at Crutchfield and thought that may be the way to go. Maybe one of the MTX bass packages?

He drives a Honda CRV.

Thanks

you will be better off going to a local shop and asking. you will still need to run an amp kit. will this be in the budget? with a smaller budget you may not get the desired outcome.

you could always look in the b/s/t forum. you could possibly get a deal on decent used items

$200 isn't much unless you do all used equipment. the basslink isn't a bad idea, but you still need an amp kit, and the stuff has to be installed. Keep all this in mind. It might be a better idea to get a gift certificate somewhere that sells the stuff then he can get what he wants or combine the money you give him with his own to get something better

yeah right.

the wires for my install alone cost $300, the basslink is ok if your not looking for earth shaking bass and just want a little low end
you're cool & all for having $300 in wires in your car.. but that is completely irrelevant to the thread.. so please gtfo.

just look into the Mach 5 MAW series.. & a nice 300-500 watt amp. would be a nice little setup.

I don't think it can be done for 200. There's just too much to buy:

Installation kit

amp

Sub

Enclosure

Installation if you can't install yourself

Does he need a new headunit or regular speakers in the car? Maybe you can get him one of those.

He has a cheap head unit also, it's a Dual 9855 or something like that. I'm not looking to shake the cars next to him just give a bit more bass.

Thanks again.

since he has an aftermarket deck ...hooking the sub amp up won't be so bad because there are at least RCA outputs...You can get an amp Wiring kit at Wal-Mart for about $30.00...I'm sure his son can get a couple of buddies to help him install it if he don't know how...
