Bass Options for a 1999 Single Cab Truck(Pics Inside)

As its fairly easy to install a decent bass system in the trunk of a car or an SUV. Sadly, single cab trucks do not pack enough room to fit the conformity selection of usual subwoofer boxes and often require specific enclosures or custom-made enclosures that often subtract from the bass that can be usually found in a car or SUV.

So is it impossible for a single cab truck to compete with most SUV and Car sound systems without mounting subs in the bed of the pickup? I don't think it is, but I will let you better-informed car audio enthusiasts to fill me in better.

I would also like to know if anyone has any idea what would be the optimal Subwoofer(s) combination that would fit in this space(Roughly 55"L 26"H and 10-12"W) and produce the same amount of bass to hang with the big boys. If it is possible to fit more than two 12" subwoofers and/or a bigger size 15" or even 18" and if anyone is interested in building an enclosure to custom fit and to take advantage of as much of that space as possible for subwoofers and bass production for a certain fee then contact me or post in this thread.

Ouch.....and you have the bench seat......so a custom center console is out......realy....the ONLY way to compete with everybody else (be really loud) would to do a bed cut. You can get a good amount of bass out of the right amp+sub combo.....but it will only be SO loud.

I was looking at a pair of 12" Kicker CompVT in a previous thread and I was wondering the possibility of an a box that could hold three of them with the dimensions to fit behind the seat.

15's will not fit behind a seat forsure i use to have a 99 sierra sportsside(i miss that truck) but the if i were u i would go with the kicker cvt's u could possible do 4 10's and pretty sure 3 12's but if it was me i just stick to 2 12's

and get a 800 amp if u go with 2

Well my current system is Sony CDX-FW700 CD Player with 2x Pioneer 3-Way 6x8 240watt speakers in the door wired to the CD Reciever.

Im selling my old subwoofers(Crappy Sony Xplode 10"'s/Lightning Audio 450w Amp/MTX 200w Amp) and I removed all the wiring that was professionally installed. So I'm pretty much overhauling and cleaning up every aspect of the truck and lowering it and in the whole philosophy of things I believe that I would need to introduce a more powerful sound system as well.

My upgrade plan consists of the following as of this time:

Dual XDMA7715 Car Audio In-Dash CD Player MP3 Stereo

Pioneer TS-A6881R 6"x8" 4-way car speakers

URL: http://tinyurl.com/2ugqam

(These speakers are going into the spare 6x8 speaker slots on the side behind the seat.)

MTX Thunder TC8001 2400W Amp Mono Block Amplifier NR

2x Kicker TCVT122

Kinetik HC1400 Power Cell Battery (1150CA)

URL: http://tinyurl.com/3xawn6

Kicker 05PKD1 1/0 Gauge Dual Amplifier Power kit

With little to no experience in car audio that is my current plan for a audio setup in my truck. Only concerns is how I will wire the new speakers and if I should in-fact wire them to a 2 Channel Amplifier and if the two Enclosed 12" CompVT's in the small truck enclosures that they are in would be capable of producing the same amount of bass as their CompVR counterparts. And if the four speakers could turn the truck into a well-rounded audio system without the usual omgwtfbass and omgwhyisitsocheapanddistorted highs.

get a 800 watt amp and 2 kicker cvt 12's and 1 HC 1800 kinetik battery and the kicker 4 gauge kit
get this amp right here on this link http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=13880

but look around and ask on here to see if u can find one used or new but less money than 500$

that is your best bet doin this set-up right here
S.a.r.c.a.s.m. maybe?

I wanna manage to get good performance from an amplifier that doesn't cost more than 200-250 USD.

yea get a good mono amp lol much cheaper
Yes, that is why someone recommended the MTX Thunder TC8001 2400W Class D Amp Mono Block Amplifier for powering the two 12" subwoofers and it seems like a decent choice for its price tag. I was also wondering how I would get the optimal performance out of those 6x8 speakers, if I would need a 2-Channel amplifier and how I would wire a Mono amplifier and a 2-Channel amplifier to the same headunit.

Ugh I'm clueless at this.

if u got money and wanna sound good go with the kicker and not with crappy mtx....who cannot make a 22 inch subwoofer be loud at all! f*** mtx
Recommend a decent Kicker class D mono amplifier that isn't even slightly overpriced and I might look into it.

I got a box for 2 10" subs that is 3ft^3NET tuned at 35hz and is almost done.....The box is in primer with filled in cracks and covered screw holes with bondo and will be painted a metallic black once I'm done with it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Brahmas are nice. I have a 10" Mk1. Just a single 10 was enough for me.
