bass level for rock and hip hop

I am in the process of buying an aftermarket HU. I have a bass control knob that I can adjust the sub amp gain. When I play different genres of music the bass is sooooo different. ROck I have to turn the gain up and with hip hop I have to the opposite.

My question is: is there a HU that can help control the varied bass whereas I wouldnt have to adjust so much??

I assume you have a LOC on your factory deck huh? To have more options up front, you should deffintley consider a aftermarket HU.

Really though I have the same problem with an aftermarket deck and I just have to mess with the EQ on my deck. I have a nice EQ though and takes a minute or so to adjust, but is worth it.

I am torn with what HU to buy. I want a DD for sure but I dont know if I really need/want a monitor. I could live without and the hefty price. I looked at the Pioneers, Alpines, Clarions...all of them. But it seems that they don't have the package deal.

I would like great SQ, eq, 5v, plays mp3's and bluetooth...these are the main things I look for. Any suggestions?

What eq do you have? I could buy a single din and an EQ to feel up the space

Some people agree and some disagree. I think I will go with the 9887 Alpine for all the eq adjustments and known SQ.

I am using passive crossovers and the speakers are lame sounding so I have to go active.
