Bass is lacking

I found out why the amp was cutting out. The power wire was hanging onto the fuse by a thread. I nudged the fuse and the wire popped out. So I reconnected the wire and now the bass does not cut out. Bass is still low though. I have an extra SE sitting in my parents house. One thing I am thinking is maybe the positive and negative terminals sit diagnolly(sp) from each other on each voice coil and not directly across. There mightbe a slight possibility the amp was wired to 8 ohms because of this. Just a thought.

THis was the fuse next to the battery. Should be right there when you open the hood. This is the fuse going from the battery to the amp.
