Bass eq question?

I have the Mrv-M1005. When I set the gain with the bass eq OFF and listen to the sub, it doesn't hit the lows to well and at low volume (20) you cant really hear it. The manual says if that is the case, turn up the eq....But i noticed on the DMM it raises the voltage substantially. If I turn this up to lets say...+10 is this defeating the purpose of setting my gain therefore putting my sub at risk?

you set your gains according to a tutorial? If you did and are still having issues, look in my sig, that is the best little sub controller I've found, $18 too. Beats a bass boost knob FOR SURE. I don't sell them or have any involvement with them, just REALLY liked the one I had.

I dont think that would help since my HU has a sub controller on it.. And dont forget were talking about bass EQUALIZER.
I'm saying I wouldn't run bass boost at all, from the amp, HU, or remote knob. It's beggin' for trouble and you are putting your sub at risk. This knob is always accessible(sp) and only attenuates signal.

You could run a sweep with the amp EQ on at your desired level and see how much the EQ setting really does affect output voltage to make sure you don't go over though.

bass boost or bass EQ = bad in my book.
