Bass doesn't carry... why?

What are you on? And why did you just link me to the Gain Setting tutorial?
and stereo about at 15 out of 62(very low) and ppl still turn heads cuz they hear me from far away
Tell me, why is your system loud on a low volume setting? What part of low volume brings any indication that your system should be bassy enough to turn heads because of acoustic output through your vehicle at that setting? It's a tell tale sign of gains set too high. That is why I directed you to a thread about properly setting gains.

Not really, when you campare my system to Pyle subs at school, ud prolly die for my sub if you were a nerd in my school who doesnt know jack about system. Anyways, just that in the mornings when everythings quiet and theirs people walking in the sidewalk next to me i have it like at 15 since thats good enough for morning.. just cuz my system is loud for me at 15 in the mornings doesnt mean that the gain is set wrong. I set my gain with a DMM, urs is prolly wrong that ur system isnt loud at 6:40AM in the mornings at 15-20.

mine were somewhat set with a dmm, its not loud enough to bother people but it is loud enough to be heard from a good distance away
Now, in the afternoon, when i actually bump to 40's then i vibrate other peoples cars and set off EVERY alarm in the parking lot.

haha i have seemed to notice that tones around 38-45 hz seem to set off alarms like crazy. thats somethin i definately dont go out and try to do.. but it used to happen all the time by accident with only 300 rms and a sealed box.

Well, either way, I just wanted to know if it was a symptom of somthing not being right. My car hits so hard that the flip out of my avic n2 now viberates like mad, as well as the hair in my ears! Don't get me wrong, you can hear my bass outside the car, but not unless you are at a distance. I think it might have somthing to do with all the dynamat, which it sounds like is a good thing. I'll tell you one thing, I now have the light dimming problem since upgrading another 500 watts, even though my volts never drop to below 12.7. Up Next... the big 3?

Yeah, I get that. I didn't set my gains with a DMM. I set the comp amp as low as it can go, and set the gain on the sub amp to where I like it. It's a very safe method at the cost of output, which I don't really need. With Alpine HU's 2dB settings, it can make properly setting gains... difficult, at best. With the sub out at 15/15, it's 4 volts, at 12/15 it's 6dB down, or roughly 1 volt by my calculations.
