i have an Alpine mrd m605 and just within the last 2 weeks or so, the bass has been cutting in and out when driving around.. the amp stays on the entire time and acts as if everything is fine.. no current overload or imediance checks.. I have replaced the RCA's a couple times and it may have helped, but the problem still occurs.. im thinkin it has to do with something on the ciruit boards or even with the rca posts on the amp.. it seems that when i hit a bump or turn sharply that it will happen, on or off.. my amps are screwed down and do not slid around.. anyone know whats up??

Well to test whether it's the amp or HU, plug in an ipod with an RCA to mini rca to the amp and play music off that, then see if it still cuts out.
do you mean rca to mini jack to plug in the ipod to the amp? ill check that out

any sort of bump or sharp turn in my car the bass will cut out.. if it were the ground wouldnt the amp turn off?.. cuz it doesnt at all..

About the only thing you will be able to do is see if your solder joints broke or worked themselves loose where the RCAs connect to the circuit board. If you are handy with a soldering iron and/or comfortable with disassembling your amp you can give it a shot.

If it is something else, I feel for you because I can't standing working with those microscopic components on Alpine amps (or any amp for that matter).
