bass boost

i know bass boost isn't the best idea in the world, can lead to clipping very easily, but if i do use it, it increases the bass so unbelievably much...and i like loud. my bass boosts can consist of +18db @ 45hz on amp, and +6 @ 80hz and lower on my HU. if i put these on and my volume at about 50/62, and then adjust my gains to reach 56.56 volts [sqrt(800*4)], do you think this would be ok? or do u think that much bassboost will damage the sub, even if the voltage is right?

Too much bass boost WILL damage the sub. If the amp can do the correct voltage without boost do it. If it can't u are clipping.
yea.....just set the amp gains correct and it will be good enuff w/o bass boost.

If you need more bass outta your system, you just need better subs/amps.

If your getting the correct voltage then bass boost is fine. Your using it like an EQ,then only time it is an issue is if you set your gains without it. Then, when you add bass boost, the amp will clip. If you like the way it sounds then do it, just remember what settings you used to create that much voltage. Use a test tone consistign of your highest boosted frequency.
