Bank going bankrupt, should i switch or wait it out?

I've liked WAMU from the beginning, thats for sure.
I guess all i can hope for is whoever buys them out, keeps some of their policies

HSBC is looking like the bank that will be buying them.

good idea... make the bank fail even faster. If every one ran to the bank because they "thought" they were going under that would not be good.

Weak banks should be taken down like injured Antelope, for the good of the herd.

Besides, this is CA.com, where kneejerk overreactions are encouraged.

yeah i have wachovia who is in some troble too and im not worried. the way i see it filing bankruptcy is jus a way for them to start over. kinda like the airlines.
but i doubt anything will trickle down to you. except maybe branch closures. now if it was a local only bank then i would be worried.

btw isnt BofA in alot of trouble themselves?

BOA is strong, unless I missed something overnight.

lmao, i'm glad they are going bankrupt. that's what happens when you take someone like me with good credit and never missed or paid a payment late and take their interest rate from 12% to 25% for no reason at all. i paid them off and closed the account. they prolly did that to alot of people that couldn't afford to pay their card off instantly and got over their head from high interest rates.

In NY i use HSBC. They have banks in other Countries if you ever choose to go out of the US.
