Bank accidentally gives man $5 million

Money went into his account that wasn't his and he spent it.

I mean if your money all of a sudden disappeared from your account, wouldn't you hold the bank liable?

If that's the case then the bank should be able to provide record that there was a deposit made on whatever date, and at whatever branch. It seemed that the bank didn't have that information or just didn't provide it.

So if someone just decided "hey I'm going to deposit 5 million dollars" (more than the average person makes in a lifetime) your going to think they just were being nice?

You mean to tell me that if you went to your bank, and they said you had a 5 million dollar account, and you had the honesty to say, no i don't, and they replied that in fact you do, and you took out the money and spent it...

And you must be EXTREMELY stupid to take 2 million out of an account thinking a bank just gave you 5 million as a belated birthday gift. Really right now? He obviously knew it wasn't his. You'd think he'd ponder a bit about where it came from. No pity here lol
