Ball Park Estimate Cost for this Install Labor only

I would like to get this gear installed in my car (I already own all this gear) and was wondering if you guys could come up with a resonable ball park price for installation costs of this gear so I know I'm not getting ripped off when I walk in.

1. I'd like an Orion XTR 12" sub powered by a Phoenix Gold TI600.2 amp in the trunk.

2. Rear components 6 1/2' with tweeters in the rear, powered by a sony xplode 404-eqx

3. Front components 6 1/2' with tweeters in front, powered by a sony xpode 604-eqx

4. Install the head unit in the dash.

I have all the rca cords, like streetwires, etc. This is going into a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am GT Sedan. What do you think resonable labor charges would be for a job like this, without getting ripped off? Thank you immensely for your help in advance!

Really? Only $100? I was thinking they would need to make a custom fiberglass enclosure for the front soundstage because the stock speaker mount is only 5.25 and not too deep.

At Cartoys, they will probably charge you at least 350$. Do it yourself, and save a ton on labor. Plus, you'll be much more careful doing it than those guys at the shop.

here.. no less than 40$ per speaker, 30$ to run 1 set of wires, 50$ to hookup each amp... etc.. etc.. they don't do by the hour here they do by the item so they can **** ya

At most places it would depend on what car and what they have to supply.

I'm going to say you will be around $400 to install with them building an enclosure or anything special other then a basic install.

You all are forgetting this is gear brought to a store. Some stores will not install gear they didn't sell.

^^Or charge more to install it for that reason. Will need some modification to the front doors as stock speaker is 4x6". Same for the rear as those are stock 6x9". Do you have the install accessories for the deck yet? Some shops will try to charge you ~$100 for the harness alone. You can find it online for

With what you're describing and depending on the method used to mount the larger front speakers and running new speaker wire throughout, expect a good shop to be about $400-600.00 and if they are gonna build a tuned ported covered box figure in another $300.00

I have the bandpass box for the sub already, I just need the 6.5 comps to fit on the front soundstage, and 6.5s on the rear soundstage. Are the sony xplode a/b amplifiers any good? I though they were good mid level amps with good power and adjustments for comps? And I'd like to get the viper 5901 installed as well.

The bandpass box is likely god awful and incredible unmusical. Unless you had a professional design it specifically for your subwoofer, power, and vehicle? And then had it professionally built to those specs? If not you'd be much better off with a prefab sealed box. Or, a custom designed ported enclosure. Components in the rear are a waste for the most part, just rubbish for the soundstage. With a good front stage you won't even be able to hear the rear speakers, so I would just get some 5.25 or 6.5 coaxials, whatever fits (for the rear). Good call on getting some solid components for the front, hopefully you shop around a bit and really find which ones are good quality for the money.

Sony hasn't made anything good or remotely worthwhile in car audio for several years. Especially anything labeled Xplod, at best it would be mid-level trash. Do you have a budget and power expectation in mind that you wanna spend for the speaker amps? I'd be happy to find you a four channel that would fit your needs and budget.

Also I would estimate around $400 for install.
