Back plate to adapt head unit size

I know this is probably a really stupid question but cut me a break I'm a girl

Got a head unit for my car and it is smaller than the stock one so I figure I need some kind of plate or something to fit behind it that makes it the correct size? Where would I go about getting this, etc..

any info is helpful.

It's called a dash mounting kit. Your local installer will have them or you can find them online for cheap. You will also need a wiring harness to match your car so you don't have to splice into the stock harness

u can buy a whole kit like this on ebay for a lot cheaper then locally, shops usually charge 10 15 for kit 7 wiring and 5 to 7 for ant, if u go to best buy forget it.
