Back of head unit is really hot almost burns you

Installed an old alpine unit in my van. After blowing several fuses, I replaced them with bigger one. The fuses stopped blowing and when I plugged the unit into the harness it smoked and smelled burned. Thinking the unit is trash and tried to plug it in again for kicks and it worked fine. But now the back of the unit is really hot after playing of a short time (10 min). Any help would be great.

I don't want to be that guy, but you do know what fuses are for right? Take it out as Stang said and don't burn your van to the ground.
