you've got ALOT of choices with your budget.... for the best of both worlds (spl & sq) i usually recommend the SSA ICON... you can also look at sundown SA's, IA lethal injections's, or even a single AA havoc 15... amps... once again, you've got a pretty good range of choices for your budget. AQ 2200 can be found on here, in like new condition, for around 300 bucks.... they are solid amps. there are also a ton of other amps in the same bucket...Sundown, DC, AB, etc... all make very solid amps. if you're wanting more of a budget minded amp, audiopipe is about the cheapest you'll get that does rated power (with a few exceptions)... just try to stay away from most of the stuff on ebay.

honestly though... there is so much good equipment out there right now, that it's hard to reccommend just one piece. easiest way, is you find some pieces you're interested in, and ask us about them...

are you guys going to be switching to new components as well?

Also, you'll probably want to upgrade your electrical.... a HO alt will be hard to find for a pinto, but you could take the stock one to a good machine shop, and they can usually bore out the basket, and rewind the cage for you, for more output and reliability.

big 3 is upgrading your stock charging wires.... alt to batt, batt to chasis, block to chasis.... just opens up your charging system alot for current flow, as the stock wires can be very restrictive. people do do it with 4ga sometimes, but 0ga is really the best.

mids and highs are still used as terms, but are interchanged now with component sets/ front stage/ etc...

Think those choices are quite poor.

OK here is some stuff im looking athead unit-boss bv7330/cd/mp3 player -stay away from anything boss

amp-audiopipe 15001d mono amp - this is a solid budget amp

2 subs-audiopipe 12in 1600w peak subs - i dont personally like AP subs... better can be had

audiopipe 3way 6/8 - look at cadence for coax's... or you could even do 6x8 plates for better sound
