Just got back from Disney World. 9 hour drive, and averaged 40 mpgs!!! Lovin the 4-banger right now.
Anyway, my take on visiting Disney during the Holiday season: Do it! Parks were hardly busy, lines were short, hardly waited over 30 minutes for any ride. MGM had the "Osborne Lights" which was the whole backlot covered in Christmas lights which were timed to music...pretty cool. Got to ride alot of rides over and over with no wait. Rode Tower of Terror 4 times without even getting out by simply asking if my fiance & I could stay on the ride. Bought tickets ($42) for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas at Magic Kingdom; a 5 hour, limited-capacity, ticket only event including free hot chocolate & cookies, tons of shows, and a 20 minute firework show. Weather was high 70's/mid 50's the whole trip with no rain. It was actually hot on some days.
All in all, I'd say that if you can ever go during the Holiday Season (but not the few days before Christmas through New Years) then you should. I don't know if I'll ever go during the summer again.
