AVH-P6000DVD in a 2005 F150 - No sound from CD's.

Hey guys, need a bit of help.

I purchased a Pioneer AVH-P6000DVD about a month ago, and paid to have it installed at Best Buy.

Today, when I started the truck up after filling my tank, I heard the CD I was listening to pop a bit, and then go completely faint. Tuner still works fine, and I can get FM/AM stations perfectly, but when I switch over to CD's, I have to turn the volume all the way up to hear anything.

The guys at Best Buy said that this is basically guaranteed to be an internal Head Unit problem, and that I should take it back to the retailer I got it from, and get a new unit. I don't mind doing this, per se, but I just thought I'd come here and get a second opinion. Is there any way that this could be wiring? Or did something inside the Head Unit short out?

sounds like an internal issue. do you have any amps? ask BBY to check if the rca's are still plugged in correctly, but if no external amplification i would say it was the unit. try running some cleaner through the deck, but it may be a bad unit.

Interestingly enough, I took the car home, parked it for 30 minutes (which is when I wrote the original post.), and then went to the liquor store for a minute. I put in a CD for the hell of it, and it played fine. Not sure what happened...but...it was working like normal.

And no, no amps. It's just a new head unit, stock everything else.
