Is there any way to do an automatic size that way people dont use to big of an image?, or like the avatar make people resize before being able to load the image

sure there's php libraries for graphics manipulation, but that involves code that would:

1. check the size of the image

2. rescale if necessary

3. (re)write to file (or database, if it's stored as a binary stream)

I think it's much easier to let the users do what they want & have mods come hollering after 'em...
