Well, I bought this sub in July of 05 and used it for a month, but had to swap it out because of space issues. I had planned to use it, but things came up and I kept putting it off. I found it while cleaning out my garage and it's a little dusty, but still looks new. I went to hook it up and there was a rattle. It sounds like a piece of tin floating around in there.

Can someone tell me if this is fixable and for how much. Is there any kind of warranty on a 1 and half year old sub? Is there anything I can try to do to fix it myself. Do I send it back to ascendant or is there a local place that could possibly fix it? I know it shared parts with a couple of other companies subs and that there should be someone who can work on it. This thing is heavy. So shipping will probably be a lot.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Or, just take the sub out and play it out of the box. Listen for the sound and try to locate the source. It sounds like the spider separated from either the basket or the cone. If it did, this is fixable and you could do it on your own.

Well I found what it was.... that piece of copper in my av. I took the dust cap off and there is nothing else floating around in there and I can't what that wire came off of.
