I am thing of buying some audioque subs. They are going in a 1994 ford explorer. What would be better, 4 12's or 4 10s? The hdc3....

4 12's if you have the room. Also "assuming" you have the electrical/power for HDC's, otherwise get SDC2.5's...

I'd want a minimum of 6k for 4 HDC's

i agree 100%. You will want around 3k watts for the sdc2.5's.

They are built more towards the SPL scene....

I vote for the SDC2.5's....if anything...my friends got 2 15" SDC2.5's on two AQ 1200D's and it gets extremely loud and they are half the price.

My friend has a pair of AQ 1200D's strapped to a pair of 15" SDC2.5's in a custom box we built in a 92' Jeep Cherokee...Subs forward, port up....its so fricking loud, you'd think we got 18" MT's back their or something...

aq sound good theres some sq there and it all depends on install and tuning.

True its all in the install...but my point was...most people go for the HDC3's with SPL in mind, not SQ..

Robert here local has a Nissan Sentra with 2 HDC12's on a 2 AQ 2200's strapped and it doesnt have a ton of SQ, mostly SPL oriented...
