how much power are people throwing at these subs? i was looking at getting a few 10's and was just curious since the hdc3's will take like 5,000 for 5--10minutes....so please offer up all info you have. thanks

throw 2000rms at one and watch it go up in smoke believe me i tried the 750.1 on one and then a 1000.1 on the same sub both were zx amps it did not like the 1000 at all so no i would def say no to 2000w

I wish they were making them with the older parts. The new models just don't seen as durable. I put a sundown 1500 on an old 12" 2.5 at full tilt and had no problem with it at all.

That sound winner! Seriously , i don't know about the china made model, but they are extremly nice subs. They sound real good too when tuned lower than recommanded. One of the few subs that impress me from the start. They are so underrated to me.

I played like 20min yesturday without any subsonic filter 15hz under my box tuning at full tilt and they wanging like no tommorow. But there was a tommorow and that's today //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

they are often compare to type r... but let me tell you i couldn't have fun that long with the alpines without smelling the coil for hours

just because you have a 5k amp amp on one dosent mean the sub is seeing that much power. you need a 4" coil sub with great cooling to be able to handle 5k for that long.

the hdc3 can handle 5k for burps yes, 5-10mins NO.

Also consider the fact that they don't need a lot of power to get loud, so don't get hung up on how much you can throw at them.

Without knowing more about the guy blowing them on 750watts I'd take his experience with a grain of salt. Could have been clipped to hell, bass boost all the way up, playing way below box tuning, etc...

I've built 2 sets ups with 2 15" SDC's: 1 off an AQ 1200D the other off a kicker 1500 and they both were tuned to 38Hz and slammed on the lows and sounded very good.

Got another build coming up soon with 8 15's off a couple of Sundown 3ks, so 750watts per sub. Plan to tune this one to 35Hz for a low end monster. Shooting for 150+ around 30Hz....

I ran 1 15" SDC2.5 on my ZX750.1 without problems. Took the power like a champ. Now I have 2 15s on about 500rms a piece and they are begging for more. They should be able to take about 1000rms a piece without a problem. I'm searching for a good 2000w amp now for them. Just don't get silly and crank the gain way up and you'll be straight.

there is a guy on here who runs 2 hdc3 10's both off a atomic (sp?) 5000 and he has a video of them at full tilt with a hat in the port and they seem to be fine. so if he is actually doing it then id have to say they can take it.

anyways how much room do the sdc 2.5 10's need?
