Audioque HDC3 15''

So I'm purchasing an Audioque HDC3 15'' Sub in a few days, and I need to know some stuff about my amp.

I'm debating whether to buy a 1200 Watt amp or go up to an 1800 Watt.

I'm in a 2004 Ford Explorer everything is stock manufacturer.

Would an 1800 Watt Amp stress my electrical system and dim my lights?

I'd like to get as much power to it as possible but without having to upgrade anything else ATM as I'm a little tight on money.

IMO i would just stick with the 1200 watt amp since you're currently not having any known electrical problems and upgrading to the 1800 watt amp could emerge such problems. But it all depends how you power the amp, i think a smaller amp properly powered is better than a larger amp inadequately powered. But just get some more feedback from others around the forum

The guy at my local car audio store is telling me that I only need about a 1000 Watt AMP to push this sub...

So he recommended me a like 1000 Watt amp saying that 950 Watts would be going to it continuously, but the sub peaks at 2000Watts.

I need to know ASAP, I'm buying this sub from a local guy and I want it before he sells it off!

Well all is well, cause the guy is hooking me up with a sundown 1200D amp instead of the 1000.

So i'll be getting more power to the sub //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I cant wait to get this baby hooked up. Hopefully i can do the amp install by myself lol

Please don't.. judging by that statement and this thread you don't know much so don't destroy a Sundown Amp and a HDC3 by doing a poor install
