audioque hdc3 12 on a nine.1 and something is wrong...

okay i will go with this^^^^^ i mean what does everyone else set their amps at whos powering a hdc3 12? that should be a good place to start id guess...but if i do setit like this and still dont like it could it be it needs/wants more power?

Check the Master/Slave switch on the Nine.1, make sure it's set to Master. If it's set to slave, you'll get close to zero output.

With a tune of 37hz, I'd personally set the SSF to 30ish hz.

okay well i set the subsonic to around 40 and mt lpf to like 95...i will let you know what it sounds like tonight.....and it is set to master also.....its just kinda weird there was only one song on the radio that played and i was actually like "wow this thing does get loud" everything else is just okay...was i expecting too much from this sub? i mean yeah its loud for a 12 but now im kinda wishing i bought 2...

Lower your sub sonic freq. 40 is to high! Everyone on here has said to set it around 28-30hz including AQ's owner. WE ALL CANT BE WRONG;)

With 1k-1200 your barely touching the potential of that sub.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

Also your subsonic filter doesn't have to be at box tuning, it can be a little under.
Another soul letting ya know that the ssf doesnt have to be box tuning. I personally set mine at 25ish with every set up I have!

These HDC's will take a beating! Turn your SSF off and see if it makes a diff. At 40hz. your choking that freq. What I mean is the ssf limits the amount of power at that freq and lower to avoid over excursion etc...

i know 1200 isnt much but i find it hard to beleive that at 200watts over the rms its not attleast doing 80% of its full potential...
I have 5k at .5ohm going to my HDC 10's. 1200 rms is about 40% of its potential.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Given a proper install, that Nine.1 should be pushing closer to 1400+ watts at full tilt with engine running. I'd think the sub should at least work normally with that amount of power?

Seems like something isn't right for sure.

Oh, and just in case the OP missed it..... 30 hz for the ssf!

You might want to check your sub wiring and see if it's wired correctly. The HDC will have increasing output through out it's power range. It will get pretty loud on as little as 3-400 watts.

my hdc3 12 is a beast. it literally destroys my car. i have it off about 1600 rms and 2.5 cubes tuned to 38 hz. set your amp gains with a dmm. do everything that people have mentioned in this thread before you ask any more questions because chances are one of the things mentioned is your problem.

well i switched the settings and it does seem to be doing a lot better. i will turn the SSF off tomorrow and see how it sounds. also i will check the sub wiring just incase...
