This is that same box you had tuned to 34hz with the 6in aero?

From what youve seen, would you recommend this tuning again? Or would a lil higher still yield good lows but a lil more spl up top?

I would say that depends on the car, and the users goals.

I doubt it would sound very good. I definately wouldn't try it in a common chamber box.

i ordered the 12" and and going to put it in an club (extended) cab dodge dakota. box will be roughly 2.6cuft. just wondering what someone would recommend for my tuning. i love lows, but i also really love SPL. so something that would be suitable for both needs, and i listen to rap mostly. this is obviously a very broad question cuz there are just so many options and such, but i dont want to tune to 40hz if something would overall sound better in a club cab pick up..

Here's a scenario.... say I have 2 Sundown 1500s strapped for power. Would 2 hd3c 15s be louder/ sound better than 2 DD 3515s daily? And do they come standard with copper coils or aluminum coils?

I don't know for sure but judging on how a old version compared to the 95 series I would say that the new version would definatley be more comparable to the 95s than to the 35s. Apparently the first shipment is all aluminum coils so if you order now they will be aluminum. I was told in the future copper will be standard and if you want aluminum it will cost more but right now they are all aluminum

Sorry I missed your post for a few days. I would recommend either trying to pick up a used, original HD3 with coils matching yours, or to sell your old one, and buy a pair of the new ones.

Thanks for the great comparison. But I still have a few questions below.

Did you play any actual music on them?

If you have, did notice any sound quality and/or bass response difference?

Which do you think is more musical, HD3 or HDC3 ?
