i had a customer running 1 of the 15s with 2400rms for 2 yrs. these subs like the lower tuned boxes (below 40hz). there is the new apx's that use 3" coils now too.

howd he send 2400 without blowing them? my amp does a little over 1300rms and the sub was getting hot when i had all 1300 going to it.

he had 2400rms to it in the correct ported box with the subsonic filter setup right. he did nuke the coil after 2 yrs(slinky). it wouldnt handle the power full tilt for a whole 5 min song without dropping the vol a bit. he did beat on it. i have burps one with over 3krms many times no failure...

didnt think it would handle that from what i've heard on this forum. just goes to show that most people that talk shit havent actually tried or seen it in action

Great Subs for the money , the only problems I have ever seen with the TXX series,is if they were installed in small prefabs tuned way too high , the triple joints would fail.

maybe you can help me then. I think im gonna get another 15 but cant find the same model. Is there a difference between the TXX-AP15RD and the TXX-APX15rd?

i ran one it a temp set up for a while. it was loud.i was pretty impressed. it didnt like the 2.5k i threw at it at the end

John Carr was up into the mid 160s w/ i think 9 15" Audiopipes in his van walled off and before that in his Probe.

low 160's as in 161. probe wasn't loud but threatened to self-destruct with every run.

heres a vid. ended up adjust the amp settings alittle bit so it would only give out just over 1100 to the sub and havent had any problems with overheating yet.
