Audiofonics- SRSLY underated

Out of curiosity...... what is "20% gain?"... gain isnt a percentage... or a volume control.. its voltage matching..
what you said make no FU%$$&ing sense.. do not pass go do NOT collect $200.. we are all dumber for having read your post... go play in traffic with a blindfold you POS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
0 is lowest, 100 is MAX

20% would be 20/100

AKA i had the knob turned only 20% of what it could be.

troll fail less please

so when i took it to the shop they turned the gain to 75%, Bassboost to 75% and on the knob up front 75%

now.. i was always told to not turn up bassboost?

lol he may be an a-hole but you fail more than him and that shop fails more than you.

What percentage your gain is at has nothing to do with anything and hurry with the pics.

MAX=FAILRMS=WIN

come on you're on Ca.com since 09 you should know that....
He's just saying that a company that puts max watts on an amp is normally overrated...normally. There are exceptions when good companies started to get bought out and the max wattage claims were made for them to seem more powerful to the uneducated consumer.

Exactly!

Any time I see an amplifier that says 2,000 watts MAX, it reminds me of DEI Orion with their HCCA-D600 (and other models marketed at max) that only provided 1/2 their marketed power RMS into their lowest rated impedance. EDIT, it also reminds me of the marketing scheme from bottom feeder brands such as Boss, Legacy, Pyramid, Power Akoustik, etc. Regardless, if I see an amplifier marketed with a MAX number over an RMS number, I generally continue searching.

So today i got a audiofonic ADF-2844 for 140 at the shop down the street.
this thing overpushed my sub Sitting at 20% gain and zero bassboost with negative on the head unit

the book says

175X2@4ohm

260X2@2ohm

520X1@4ohm

I have to say, this amp is very nice. Opened it up to see how slimmed down the guts were like most amps and it was pretty good looking inside too. Wasnt just a bunch of open space.

How many of you have dealt with this company?

Overpushed? Have you clamped it? Do you know what it is actually putting out? Probably not............... So it sounds more like a weak/worn/bad sub or you are clipping the amp. Sorry, but you have no proof it is seriously underrated with the information you have provided.

Well there's your problem. It's not that your sub can't handle the normal output of the amp. All that boost(s) is probably clipping the ever loving pee pee out of that amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

is that what would cause the subwoofer to get warm too? iv never had a sub get super warm on the cone.

so instead of trolling me because your bored... How would i go about knowing where my gain should be set to?

Posting about an amp and opening it up and not sharing gutshots = fail!
We want the guts!

Who was trolling? Never said a word about your gain. I was talking about the bass boost being cranked to 75%. Bass boost *****, and high settings will clip the amp very quickly. Simple as that. Setup isn't as loud as you wanted. Shop tried over compensating by cranking up the bass boost. Not my fault your local shop is full of idiots //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
