audio bahn capacitor bank 30voltsurge ,my first ??is are these quality caps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif or are they just:eek: crap.. .. second ??anybody got any digrams of setting these things up..as i need a big 1 i dont know get mutipl ??how set them up or i get 1 big (bank)like pic it nice &shiny but is it any good im new to caps but i got twin alternators good battery a few 4 so far batterys

DO NOT BUY A CAPACITOR!!!!!

They are USELESS!!!! The best electrical upgrade you can do is buy a heavy duty output alternator. A capacitor will only add another load to your straining electrical system. If your lights are dimming with the bass then a cap is not the answer and anyone else on this site will tell you the same as I am going to do. If your headlights dim, buy a bigger/Higher output alternator.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

6 xt 15 2000watt rms 12 1000 d amp i got 2 alternators the biggest i could get 200 somthink i think they were 4 yellow top batteries just looking at this cap cause besides that horntweeter thing it camplet back to my main ??adio bahn products are they qua;ity or crap as we dont have this brand here &i ve found i can get them cheaper than from us then buying here just this brand???????????????????

your pretty much out of luck man....adding a cap isnt going to hurt anything in a setup like that....however 2 alts probably isnt going to be enough to power al those amps.....so the caps will be usless.....sorry

god ****, does anyone actully read what people post before they respond? the guy asked about the quality if this cap, said nothting about dimming lights and said ws already running dual alternators, why would you come back with a comment like that? Anyways, audiobanh makes good products, when it comes to caps there is not a lot of difference between brands, there pretty much only one way to make them (2 metal plates and a differeing initial electrical potential) now different manufacturers have expierimented with different space fillers which changes output, but generally a 1 farad cap is a 1 farad cap. Now those 5,10 and bigger caps seem to get closer to be being batteries, the discharge rate is slightly slower, but they are still very effective in deilvering quick burst of power when your amps need it, that is so long as your alternators can keep up with it. Agreed that caps will never fix electrical problems, but they can improve an electrical system that can keep up with the increases demand of capacitors.

There's a lot of people who say caps are junk, and I'm one of them. But I don't say it right off the bat in response to a legitimate question like this. Nor do I make points about how it won't help dimming lights, or how a bigger alt is needed, especially because in this post, the author mentioned he already had several batteries and two alts. A cap won't help the situation, really, unless you're looking for a strong (30V) discharge for a short burp to try hitting a high SPL. However, I think the best bet is to run one battery per amp to ensure plenty of current is available for the short burps you're likely aiming for. And you should probably get a third alternator to charge the whole thing. That should set you up fine, I think.

thnx for ur reply use have anser me ??? and few more like idae running batery to seprat amps 3rd alt shit dont think ill get that in the hiace van she getting tigh in the engin bay know this time next month i should know how it going to work thinger crossed hear we come 160 db aleast .. ill post pic with db reach next month thnx gen any idea on power this thing will still be apreacated 13 *1000 d amps ow good i hope it works

well said, ill add that this is the ONLY thing caps were ever ment for!! people distorted their usage into fixing electrical problems.

well it seems you would be competing, or at least i would hope so cuz itr woulnd't make sense to have all that stuff in a daily driver. but, i don't know if it will work, maybe instead of th ecap you could use some yellow top batteries. i mean, yes they would put more strain into the alternator but only when th ecar is running. if you will be blasting ur music w/o runnin the car some bats would be good but then u would need somethin to recharge them.

just my 2 cents

listen mate these people who dont like capacitors dont no anything trust me they are amatuers ive installed many capacitors in my setups and they've always helped me improve hitting them higher bass notes and improving battery performance as for the capacitor you have it dont make no differance they all do the same job its just big rand names having a competition dont worry that one looks pritty god to me

again...why bring old topics that have already been resolved up???? in this instantce a cap may help.....however w/ the amount of amps he is running he'd need at least 2 HO alts maybe more.....plus several batteries....and please dont go around caling people amatures.......good way to loose respect on this board......i'll let it slide this time.....but next time you'll lose some of my respect....

You are a moron. If you want to argue about caps, please, let me know, I'd be glad to school you.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

im baking you up on this one... capacitor does help... but bigger alternator is def better..

question for capacitor haters.... did you install it right?? #1 did you charge the capacitor first, or you just connect them right away? #2 is it grounded right??
