yes, the Audiobahns sound better than the IDMax I was running as far as SQ goes. But maybe my idea of SQ is skewed or something. The IDMax was decent, don't get me wrong, but maybe it is the fact that I have 4 of the Bahns that makes them sound better because I am not pushing each sub as hard? I have run a few different subs, Kicker Comps, JL w6 subs, Alpine type Rs, Cerwin Vega Vegas, MTX 6000s, Image Dynamics IDMaxs, but the High Excursion Audiobahns sound better than all the other subs I have used. Maybe it is the enclosures I have had them in?

Question though...have you actually used the Audiobahns or basing your opinions on what you have heard from other people?

I used to hate Audiobahn. I had a buddy that was running them a while back(7 years or so ago) and I hated his set-up! They sounded horrible and did not get loud at all! I am not sure what model he had at the time, but they sounded like ***. A few years ago I heard the High Excursions and my jaw dropped! they were in a S10 extended cab(3 of them) and they sounded so clean and got loud! I had my IDMax then. It ended up going to shit and I remembered how the Audiobahns sounded. Ended up picking up 4 of them when they were a little pricier($150 each) and have never regretted getting them!

Now I see them going for dirt cheap and I highly recommend them! At least the AW1200N model. I am not sure how the AW1200V(newest version) compare.

Now I see them going for dirt cheap and I highly recommend them! At least the AW1200N model. I am not sure how the AW1200V(newest version) compare.

I think the new ones just have the black gloss cones and tall narrow surround. They are still pretty similar to the older ones.

the thing i hate about Audiobahn is their customer service (or lack thereof). I bought some audiobahn speakers because i got a good price on them, and I bought the optional replacement tweeters for the 6x9 coaxes and it didn't fit right. I could not get anything but "i'll call you back" from the tech support people. btw, they never called me back. I called them at least 10x trying to get it taken care of.

Even if they end up sounding amazing, these are the first and last audiobahn products i EVER BUY!

Exactly. They are very good for what they cost.

The ones i saw at the shop handles 400-500 rms, the high excursions anyway, i think i'll get a 12" for shits and giggles and see how they sound to ME especially for that price since i've never ever used a brand Audiobahn sub before, what the hell -shrugs-

I still have 3 aw1200x from like 02 or something. Had 4. One shit the brick. I guess it was a flaw in it as the others play just fine still. It overextended or something, it ripped the spider off the basket and frayed the tinsel lead. Funny thing it still played, it was dvc and the other side was ok. But I really beat the shit out of those subs and that was the only problem I ever had.
