I would say that if the end user isn't expecting performance exceeding the actual abilities of a Boss amp if the price of admission isn't out of line then yeah, it's okay.
Would I buy their gear myself? No. Would I buy a Pyramid product? If it isn't a power supply, again the answer will be a definitive NO.
Having said that I have more than a couple of friends that have used what most (if not all) of us here would dismiss out of hand as garbage with good results. If you're not asking more of a product than it can reasonably give you (which most people do when talking about the above-referenced brands) then anything can be a decent product. A buddy of mine has a 2-channel Boss amp he picked up at a garage sale for like $10. It boldly claims something like 800 watts or some ludicrous output level across the chassis in very garishly bright lettering. We looked it up online and according to the manual it does like 55 watts per channel RMS. Using the DMM method we set the gains for 40w and he's been running it on a pair of 6x9s for like three years now.
Again ~ is Boss something I would purposely invest in? Not too likely...
Is an amp that has been running trouble-free for three years worth $10?
Without question.
