Audiobahn Haters

I'm not a big audiobahn Sub fan but I have heard some that sound descent. Ive read threads about them but what exactly is it that are so bad about them.

1. Audiobahn puts more effort into making their product shiny and "attractive" than actually building high quality drivers.

2. When you say "sound decent", what other setups have you heard to make this comparison?

Just want to make clear that I am not sticking up for audiobahn I just wanted to hear opinions on why they are so bad. I need to answer questions for friends who think the flame q's are the best which I laugh at him for saying.

thats the problem right there... people who have em think they are the absolute best, which just isn't true. yes, some installs can sound good, but they are just high end circuit city equipment i think.

I wouldn't even give them that much credit.

The are chromed out POS's.

If you stripped away the chrome, no one would buy them. But they are big and flashy and shiny, and because of such all the newbs think they are the greatest equipment ever.

They aren't very good sounding drivers, nor are they very good for all-out SPL. With the exception of a few upper end drivers meant for SPL competition, they're your basic, entry-level street beating sub for someone that doesn't neccessarily care what their system sounds like, as long as it "bumps hard, yo".

Yeah I have a friend who thinks that his two tens will in his words "outbump" my 15" L7 when I install it. ( I will probly get beef for the L7 but thought I would throw it in)

Yeah everyone around here has 2 12" flame q's or dubs. I have heard some good things about the eternals and immortals but never enough to want to pay the price for either. Another friend has 2 12' Type R's hooked to a Rockford Fosgate 1500 and says he will crush my 15" L7 giving it 1000 watts. ( In others opinion should I give it more Power)

I have a Hifonics that I bought ( forgot model) it puts 1000 rms but haven't had it hooked up yet because I am getting a new truck. Thats why I was asking before I hooked it up if it would be worth it to get rid of it and get something better or just keep it.

bx100d? I have heard Those get real warm at 1 ohm and that they dont put out rated power. I say get a Orion 1200D or a viper 1200.1(cheaper). I wish I would have gotten a Orion but Viper isnt bad at all

I know the amp is 2 ohms. Yeah I have been thinking about a viper but there have been mixed reviews, some say it would be nice, some say it would blow easy, and others say it isnt worth it.

Ya there was a bad batch that went out or something. Mine runs at 2ohms I play it for sometimes an hour or 2 at a time. It barely even gets warm. I am thinking about running it at .5 ohms maybe...
