Audiobahn and Alpine Type X

hey guys

i wanna ask some question. sorry if this is already repeat..but i want to know is the type x or sq or spl and what are those stand for?? i got the type x 12" along with auudiobahn A8002T. would u think say that amp would be good for that sub? i already got it and hook it up and everything but i just want to know if that a good match. if it is not which one would make it better ? when i turn my system up high...with the trunk up the bass coming from the sub sound differently then when ia m in the car. does that happen if the amp doesnt have enough power for the sub? well thanks for ur time.

sq=sound quality (without regard to loudness)

spl=sound pressure (loudness, without regard to quality)

the type x is more sq in my opinion... I have one running on the alpine md 1005 1000 watt amp. It's pretty loud, but i'm sure there's louder 1000 watt subs. But the bass is really clear and accurate. How many watts is your amp? The rms on the sub is 1000 watts, and max 3000, so if you have less than 1000, it's probly not enough power.

that audiobanh is 200w x 2 or 800 x 1 ..... i think my system is running at 1 channel..

Yep, that's not enough power. It might sound alright with that, but you could get more out of the sub with at least 1000 watts. BTW mine's the mrd-m1005, not the md1005.

i agree with the guy above... u will need atleast a thousand watts of pure rms. power to push that sub the way it should be pushed. i have an acquaintance that has 2 in his 02 grand cherokee in a slot vented box with a mrd 1005 on each and it just pounds.

i doubt any of you would know the difference between 800 and 1000 watts by your ear alone. anyway to answer the question of power, its dependant uponthe enclosure. that sub could handle more power in smaler sealed box than in a larger ported box. 800 watts is plenty of power for a type X.
