I recently wired up my xplod 800 watter from my old car and because my headunit only had two outputs and my amp had four inputs, i decided to use a 2 for 1 connector on both outputs and put 4 rca cables to the amp...i am setting it up to run 4 full range speakers and no sub

so anyway i connected the front two speakers, all the RCA's and turned on the radio...amp has power and when you press the test tone button on the amp you can hear it in the speakers...but there is no audio coming from the head unit...

am I an RCA noob and can't do what I did, is my headunit being annoying? I checked the manual and have the right settings...

I don't want to have to run eight more wires back to the amp to "manually" hook up the audio...

if you hear anything from the amp in the speakers then conections are good, its probably either that you have the wrong set of rcas connected at the rear of the hu, or the rcas you have connected are turned off inside the hu

test tones on the amp??? wtf???

what do you mean?

Check your rca's or just run some new ones. But I had a similar problem no sound or nothing, but the amp come on. I was confused for about 3 days, I even brought me a different amp in the process, still come on but no sound. Come to find out my fuse wasnt all the way in the fuse holder under the hood. My amp was getting voltage to come on, but not enough to push my subs. I believe it 12 something up to the fuse, then it dropped down to 8 volts after it. So also check your fuses ahd thier holders. Since that happen I switched to ANL Fuses.
