Audi sound deadening Q's?

NOTE: I have already read the STICKY on deadening the door.

Ok, so I previously installed Polk Momo's 6.5 in the door of my 06 Audi on the plastic spacers.

About to swap those spacers for 3/4" MDF and clay it up...and I want to sound deaden the door as well.

The door from the factory already has some insulation on the inner door panel facing into the cabin...do I remove the old factory deadening and install the new deadening material then stick the factory stuff back on? Or get rid of the factory stuff altogether?

Only if I remove it will I see how sealed the door is...I'm betting the factory deadening is not tightly sealing the door since my midbass is not tight.

It's not a vapor barrier, it's foamy.

Thanks all.

I would say that if you have to take the stock deadener out to apply the new stuff I would just throw it out and add a second layer of the good stuff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

The factory "deadening" is basically a sound proofing material. Not a mass loading material that most people call sound deadening. It helps keep out unwanted road noise and such. Add your deadening material and keep stock material.
