Audi A4 Fiberglass Worklog

So me and my friend started working on fiberglassing my two JL 12w3s in to the side of my trunk. I have some pictures that I would like to share. I worked on it more today but got really upset with the fiberglass and gave up. It has about 4 layers on it, but a ton of air bubbles. I sanded some of them down before but they came back. I guess one day when I have time I will have to redo the whole box. It will probably be easier when my friend gets back from NYC. Anyway the pictures:

I need to figure out where to relocate the BOSE amp to. The spare tire well was suggested but I think for now it will just be on the outside of the panel (inside of the trunk).

That cubby will be cut out to allow the sub to poke through.

My friend: "And this is a picture of my friend's foot." But doesn't that pool of packing peanuts look inviting?

1/2 of my trunk. Who can guess what car that is? Yes we know it's a corvette of some type.

If only the mold would turn out this good:

Meh:

So now all that's left is to add 3-4 more layers of fiberglass to the mold. We will then be using MFD for the front face and have the sub angled out of that using cloth+fiberglass. Eventually I want to recover the trunk in suede. Can't wait!

So far so great //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Where are you in LA ?

oddly enough, my friend went to NYC too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

If you can, rip the holes open and just put some resin inside of them. Stabbing them works to, you cant brush them out
