ATTN Gun owners...

im not sure to be honest.he said he put out 3 rounds and it jammed. they are great guns, but i wouldnt trust my life with one.

PD's clean theirs every so often. which is a great practice but not everyone does it. they also carry smith & wesson more-so than glocks. thats for a reason.
Eh.. there are plenty of reasons why that happened, and if you cant tell me exactly what he was using and doing, then im not going to pay any attention to it. If he was using aftermarket parts, or cheap ammo then the gun is not at fault. Ive put well over a 1000 bullets through mine without cleaning it and it has never not gone bang. Soo i would trust my life with it.

And any gun can have problems, but there is not a single gun that could take the abuse Glocks have for the last 20 years and still fire. To each there own though.

he probably didnt clean his.

they are great firearms though. parts can be swapped with others of the same caliber. they withstand almost any kind of weather that most people would enevr be in. no external safty.

now that i think of it. a few of by buddies had glocks , and ive never heard them say any such thing about thiers.

but personally , for home defense, id grab a model 500 combo mossburg with 00 buck before any hand gun.

lol. ya, i do have the shotty next to the bed. It would be a tough call to grab that, or to grab the loaded glock from the nightstand..hmm..decisions decisions.. lol

i have one of those too.. mossberg 500 with a 12" barrel and the pistol grip excellent shottie for their price......but i hunt with a Remmie 870

Make sure you check all your laws, I thought you needed a permit no matter what state you lived in? If you have any have a record with any A&B or domestics you will not be able to get one probably.
here in Ohio, depending on the city, you don't need a permit to own one, just to carry one

I really like my Springfield XD .40, The price was nice, has both grip and trigger safety. Also has a loaded chamber and ready to fire indicator. I was pretty happy with the price when I got it, don't remember off hand what it was, but I know I wasn't dissapointed with what I got.

Dont need a permit in TX, only to carry. Your right about the domestic stuff. You cant have Misd A or B for atleast 5 years, and no felonies. I have to wait until This coming feb to get my carry license, since i had a class A Misd. from when i was younger.

This makes a good starter gun...plenty of shots till you get the hang of it (32) and it doesn't hang up....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Also it is very easy to mod for 3 shot burst or fully auto for special occasions //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Yeah... i have no felonies, mis., nothing... just a speeding ticket or 2. lol. I think you need a liscense to purchase or own a gun in RI. Im not sure though. I gotta talk around.

Here's an overview of gun laws in Rhode Island...

A good all around nightstand handgun is a .357 magnum revolver with a 4"-5" barrel. The Smith and Wesson 686 and Ruger SP-101 are some models to check out. Advantages are reliability and decent power. It can also be loaded with .38 specials for practice and/or reduced recoil.

If you want an auto, Smith and Wesson's new M&P series autos are getting some great reviews and sell new for reasonable prices. Glocks are also good pistols and easy to strip and maintain. I like the 9mm round in autos because it is an effective self defense round which is also very inexpensive allowing for more practice at the range.

Is the little one a North American Arms Co. .22?

If so my aunt used to carry one of those in her purse when she had to go out and have a look at her company's jobsights in bad neighborhoods.

Reliable as an oak tree and a great weapon for a woman with small hands. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

Along the same thought-train but considerably older is what I keep next to the bed ~ an oldschool Ruger Security Six, 4" barrel, stuffed full of Hydro Shoks. Nice combo IMO. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

My Ruger P97DC has shown thus far to be flawlessly reliable for what it is.

I can go to the range and shoot mag after mag after mag after mag and it hasn't jammed up the first time.

I'm pretty relentless about keeping my firearms clean, though - this is key for any weapon regardless of make for those who do not know...
