Attaching wood to plastic

What is the best adhesive for attaching a wood ring to a plastic door panel. Currently, I am using fiberglass. I dissolved some matting in resin and used that. I am thinking this may not last very long. Is there anything I can do to strengthen after the fact (it has lasted about 2 mos)

However, when mounting my tweeter, I am going to have the door panel sandwiched between one piece of 1/2 at an angle and a piece of 1/4" mdf. I am thinking of fastening the pieces via screws on the backside, but what adhesive would be best use? I like both chemical and mechanical bonds for maximum performance.

So, are you going to see the method? If not...

I recommend using clear silicone, GE SiliconeI.

Apply generously, tape in place with 2" painter's tape (make sure to clean panel with adhesive cleaner before taping).

Let dry overnight... and it's REAL secure.
