Attaching a basket to a motor... with a twist...

and I see you watching, Tommy. I think I will go for the bigger bolts, unless someone has an amazing idea. I will also use copious amounts of epoxy.
Whatever bolts you do end up using, make sure to use loctite on the threads as well. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

We have a winnar. I went looking for various bolts in my garage, and found this guy:

It's just a 10mm hex bolt. I'm going to home depot and seeing if I can find any that are similar in size.

Oh, and to show how jerry rigged it was before... here is a screw out of the top plate with nothing but epoxy in the threads.

Thats how half of the screws were.

If the threads are stripped out you can probably run a 1/4-28 tap through them and get some bite out of them... but not much. The hole on the XXX top plates are DEEP and you can run the tap down a ways to get some good bite... then get some 1.25" grade 8 1/4-28 bolts and washer and bolt it back in place... but Id probably add some epoxy as well (grind the basket down and see if you can clean some of the top plate off.

*** be sure to tape off the gap VERY well to make sure that it doesnt get all sorts of cr@p in it. XBL gaps are a little harder to clean out that standard gaps, so the less in them the better.

Thanks,

Scott

Well, I put some bigger bolts and loctite in... and its holding like a champ. added some epoxy to be safe. I put the old softparts back in.... lmao... and for some old parts that have been cut out before, it held up well to a good 40hz sine wave with 600w.
