Assassin 10" vs JL W6 10"

Don't know the price of the Assassins but the JLs are not what I'll call cheap but when you listen to them they are definately worth the every penny:greedy: .

Assassin is only $70, but I'm thinking it will hold it's own against a W6. I doubt it will beat it out but who knows. Not trying to post anotehr vs thread, but more to see what speaker people feel the Assassin is comparable to, W6's are well known to be great SQ subs, as is the Assassin. I Know W6's have twice the power handeling,a nd I believe a larger voice soil, but thats not everything...
I'm guessing it would be more fair to compare a W6 vs Arsenal? Or is the Assassin pretty close to W6 SQL?
My two 10in assassin's in a ported box off 700wrms were just as loud as my buddys two 12w6v2's in a sealed box off some old school rockford. I don't know if his system was tuned properly though, he got his setup at some local shop. My system wasn't exactly bullet proof though aswell, my amp was making faulty power and I didn't even know the specs on the box except it had a single 6" aero. Made by the guy who owned the woofers before me.

So it sounds like the Assassin is comparable to W6 output wise only with less mounting depth?

it cant "keep up" with a w6. The base price is also around 300 dollars less. Assassin sounds really nice, and i adore mine in my HT setup but it doesn't go down as low with as much authority as the JL.
I think it's not a fair comparison, you should try them both sealed or ported, there is a big difference in there.

Ok thanks for the input. I can't fit a W6 anyways but maybe I can fit an Arsenal but I'm not sure about that either since they will now have a tripple stack magnet...

I know ported was not a fair comparison, but I was still impressed. I noticed it did not get as low as the W6 though, even in the ported box I have. The Dub 6 was nice.
I learned not to judge by price, yea it's a much cheaper woofer, or at least it was a much less expensive woofer....IMO so far I like them more than W3's for SQ. How about SQ on the Assassin Vs W6? better ? worse? talking about sealed enclosures here because I will not be trying another ported setup.

HT is home theater. I dont have enough experience with a 10" W6 to give you a thorough comparison between the AA and W6. I probably would say the Assassins could keep up in output with what experience i have.

10" Mach 5 Audio MAW FTW!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif 45 bucks and U can have one of these subs.....250 RMS only 5" mounting depth ftw again BUT the MAW line was designed with vented poles so you need to add another 1/2 inch of clearance ( Thanks Mark for informing me of this couple weeks back ) but it is 1/4 inch difference from the Assassin.
