Ok i have two 12 inch arsenals in a sealed box 1.2 ft.^3 per chamber (seperate chambers) and a ed nine.1 running to em at 1 ohm (1200w rms @ 1 ohm). Well it just does not sound good. I have them in my '06 charger facing trunk lid in trunk, and the sq isnt as good as my friends sealed 1 12" kicker comp vx. Notes run togeth and everything, i have my HU's low pass crossover set on, which is 80 hz, and it sounds even worse as i lower the LPF on my amp, what do i do? ARGH! the settings are bass -4, treble +2, mid +2, sub +6, loud on, SVC 0. THANKS!

Turn the loud feature off...set HU's Bass,Treble,Fader and balance ans sub-volume/sub-level to centered.Turn off al bass bost whether its on the HU or the amp.

With the subs disconnected play some music and turn the volume up untill you hear distortion...back the volume off until the distortion stops. That's you HU's max unclipped volume.

Take each subs RMS wattage and add together if using a mono amp.

example 800w RMS x 2 = 1600w RMS.

Take the impedence that the amp produces that wattage.

1600w RMS @ 1 ohm

1600 * 1 = 1600

find the SQRT

sqrt of 1600 = 40

So play a testone (50-60Hz) and set volume on HU to max unclipped volume.

Set track to repeat.

Set DMM to read AC volts.

disconnect speaker wires from amps speaker terminals.

Stick the + probe of the DMM into the + speaker terminal on the amp and stick the - probe of the DMM into the - speaker terminal on the amp.

Turn the gain up until your DMM reads 40v AC.

Turn HU and car off and re connect the speaker wires to the amp.

Turn the car and HU back on and set the volume to Max unclipped volume and play a bass heavy cd and listen for distortion,if you hear distortion either turn the volume down untill it is gone or turn the gain down just a tad until it is gone.

Use a O-scope when setting gains to be able to set the gains as high as possible without sending the slightes clipped signal. The O-scope will show when you are sending a clipped signla to the amp or subs.

Also,if you are going to use your HU's LPF instead of the amps then you need to turn the amps LPF all the way up or to off if that option is available.

If you have speakers in the car that aren't driven by an amp but are by the HU then use the HU's HPF and use your sub amps LPF for yor subs.

Alright, but on the + and - terminals on the amp, there are two inputs, where you can put two seperate subs into and it will parallel inside of my amp, that is how mine is wired. I have each sub's voice coils paralleled then the subs paralleled togeth in the amp in the two inputs. If i hook my DMM up to only one terminal on the amp, will it only get half the signal? Or the whole signal since I unplugged both sides?

Why are you boosting the sub but taking away from it at the same time? Turn sub to 0 and bass to 0.

I agree for the most part...
If your HU is like mine, I would put the sub to its highest point...that will up the voltage your amp is recieving...I doubt that sub level is another bass boost, most likely an output level. Turn it all the way then set your gains...
