argghhs vs. CV V-MAX124

hey guys, first post here. was looking around on sonic for some good 12's and my picks that i came out with were either the type-r or the cerwin vega V-MAX124. the vegas cost slightly less, (V-max is $130, arrgghs are $140), they have essentially the same specs (1500/600 for the type-r, 1000/500 for the vmax).

so, if you were to go ported with both of them, which would be the better deal? i know the type-r's can get loud if you give them enough power, and have heard here and there that the cerwin's have good SQ.

if I ever decide to do some upgrades i would most likely end up getting 2 of the above (dual 4's) and running them down to 1 ohm with a MB Quart ONX1.1500D (i cant post links, check it on sonic).

also, they would be in the back of a SUV if you guys care about the acoustics...

how much are you willing to spend for both?
i wasnt planning on buying now, i just wanted some info. $260 for both from sonic seemed like a good deal to me, but like disturbed said i could most definitely get them cheaper.

im no expert my any means, but what i have heard about cerwin has been good (at least their old school stuff). im leaning towards their subs. that and the magnet is pretty **** big for a 12" of that price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

if i could get the pair for no more than $220 that would be cool.

EDIT: ive been looking around CA for about a month now, but i really dont know what prices i should be expecting. most of the sales threads i see are high level stuff (sundown, DD, etc.) and those are not in the league of the subs im looking for right now.

I meant you could get the sa12's I posted cheaper.. I would not hesitate to say that the sa's would dominate the cv and types in any senario

You can get a pair of sundown sa12 for under 300 I assure you..

i have 2 DD 1008a's sitting here (waiting on a box currently). i know those 8's are tanks, but CV seems to have a good name going for themselves. would it be a mistake to switch to that?

yeah i was looking at the strokers but they cost $400 on sonic. i imagine somebody here has a stroker they might want to sell at some point. however, first priority is to get a job now lol.

well, I'm the person Luke got the 1008a's from, and I happen to have a dual 4 ohm Stroker 15 for sale too, and I'm in Maine. Imagine all that...

I also have a third 1008a if you want to go that route, run all three @ 1.33 ohm on a decent 1 ohm stable amp and you should be pretty happy brah.

alright, so those SA-12's are sounding tempting. however, i will have to upgrade my amp when i get them (have a RF prime 500w). would that MB quart be good? (ONX1.1500D)

cant imagine you'd want to take back the 1008's for the stroker lol.

EDIT: disregard any noobness: but, if all 3 are single 4ohms, wouldnt that bring you down to 1 ohm?
