I was playing my woofers with the trunk open the other day. And they started making a higher pitch bass. Now it seems they don't hit as hard. and it just doesn't sound right. I push the suspension of the woofers and its not hard to push down or anything. Could i have tweaked something? im running 4 ts-w1207s on a hifonics 1606D. Could one of the woofers be wack? or all?

Check your ground first, then other wiring including the subwoofer wiring inside the box.

i didnt think so. i think i was just clipping the signal a little with the trunk open. Thanks for advice i'm thinking of making a new box with flare ports instead so i can save some space in my trunk. It is a tight fit right now. Or i might just get a whole new setup. Audioque HD315. How long are they on backorder?

Opening the trunk won't make the amp's output any different.

man get DD sd2.5's theyre cheap and durable and can get loud.. i bet 4 would render high 40's in a proper box on 3kw rms

I find that its better to adjust the amp when the trunk is opened. You could hear when it clips better. The bass doesn't go to much into the cabin.

There is something definately different about the subs when i play them now. How much will the new AQ 2.5s be? I was thinkin of going with one HD315 on a hifonics 2006d or something.

And to the OP, pull the subs and check the coils with a DMM.

How is it dumb? Its better to hear clipping then not hearing it at all. If you hear it you can fix it. Some people can't hear slight clipping. So its easier to single it out by taking some of the bass away by opening the trunk. So you think there will be the same amount of bass with the trunk opened? I use a DMM for my tuning anyway so I don't have to tune my amp that way.
