Are the midbass components not suppose to put out treble/high? Mine sound like crap.

My system is 98% done. All I need to do is install the tweeters in the pillars. The truck came factory with Bose tweeters in the pillars already, so its not going to take too much to get them in there. Basically just need to mount them up, run the wire to the back of the truck, then connect them to the crossovers.

My question is, are the midbass components (6 1/2") not suppose to put out "highs"/treble? They sound like crap, as in they sound muffled. However, the rear speakers (coaxles) with the tweeters in the center sound extremely well. Is this normal? I don't have the tweeters in yet, so I wasn't sure if that was it.

I just figured that the components would sound extremely better than the rear as they're components and cost twice as much.

most 6 1/2's play up to 2k or so, so yea anything past that (2k-20k) you wont hear, i guess they could sound kinda muffled

That's perfectly normal. Once you get your tweeters in, things will sound normal.

What exactly are you saying? The mid-bass isn't clear? You can't compare anything but the mid-bass with the coaxles right now, doing that right now is like comparing a bicycle with a motorcycle... it is missing a VERY important part... basically you have half a speaker right now, so it won't sound as good.

Just wait until you get the tweeter in, then try to pass judgement.

Thanks everyone. I feel much better about it. I used 12 awg. wire for the rear coaxles, subs, and midrange, what should I use for the tweeters? I would just use the 12 awg., but I ran out of it with the other speakers.

14-16awg is fine.
