Are refurbed alarms as good as new?

I'm curious as to what they mean by "refurbished". I mean, there are several components to an alarm and usually if one goes bad, it can be replaced individually.

I don't know if the alarm is sold as a refurb due to quality control leaving factory (I doubt it), or a return due to product being defective.

I personally wouldn't. You can buy a new one for not that much more.
