Are FI Q's Really that great?

Will an ED Nine.1 be enough power for one FI Q12?
I just hooked up a nine.1 to a 15 inch Q for this kid yesterday, it gets plenty loud and the sub is moving as much as it can. Remember that the nine.1 is 1200 watts @ 12.5 volts so if you have a good charging system it will put out plenty.

I have a single 15" Q in a sealed enclosure of 2.45cu.ft. and 1100wrms @ 1ohm with a memphis and I feel that its not hitting right. not as clean and not hitting all the notes good enough. what's wrong with my setup??

Not exactly sure why it does not sound right, that box is a good size and the wattage is enough. Which way is the box pointing? Where is it crossedover? What setup did you have before and how did it sound? You could go ported and only lose another cube or two of space in your car.

What amp would you guys recommend for a pair of these? Im currently going to get a HIFONICS XX HERCULES, any better suggestions though? Will that power them to full cap.?.. Also a guy I know has 2 15" Rockford Fosgate p3's whos system will rock more?

Hmmm. another person with a sealed Q having problems. I'm putting my 12" Q in 1.554 cubes sealed. If my darn zx1000.1 would get here from stupid ebay I would have mine hooked up. Hope I don't have the same problem.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

my q's turn heads without me even turning it up. i've set off alarms from over 100 ft away, if thats your whole thing. (i didnt do it on purpose) its all in the box, but these subs give you plenty to work with. from what i hear, they dont like sealed boxes at all. for a pair, any decent 2kw-3kw amp will work. orion 2500d's can be found pretty cheap used. just make sure if you have the dual .7 subs that your amp can handle a .7 ohm load. i'm buying an american bass vfl 200.1 tomorrow for that reason, they will take a half ohm all day without flinching, and i'm not going to run it to its full capacity so i'll have plenty of headroom, and the amp should laugh at what i'm going to do with it.

its pointed towards the rear (opening of trunk) vehicle. how would i know what it's crossedover at? i'm only assuming its somewhere around 60hz. my very last setup was a 12 CVR in a prefab ported box and it sounded like crap (it was a get by for now system) and my current setup is currently sounding just about the same just a bit better and louder.

i'm after the deep/clean bass. should i go ported? i was thinking 3.5cu.ft. tuned to 28hz?

Why does everyone worry about this 0.7 stuff? They sell a dual 1 ohm and a dual 2 ohm version, for matching purposes in everday situations. Impedance rise will take care of any worries.

why does it hurt to have a bulletproof amp that doesnt have to strain to run your equipment, as long as you know how to set your gains?

at least you didnt recommend dual jl 1000/1's....
